Hi

My ASIO driver will not work in Ableton. I cannot even get the test tone to work, there is no sound at all.

I have looked around the forum for a fix, but to no avail. The MME driver works OK, and the ASIO was working fine before.

Please help. I am running Windows XP SP 2, Ableton Live 7.0.1 and a M Audio Fast Track Pro interace.

Hello JoePolaroid,

When you chose the ASIO driver, the audio is routed from and to your M-audio interface.
Do you have any speakers connected to the M-audio interface outputs?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have two monitors connected to the M Audio outputs, and as I said the MME/Directx driver works fine.

What could the problem be?

Not directly related but it might be worth a try:
- update Live 7 to 7.0.16
- make sure you have the latest ASIO driver from www.m-audio.com or
- try the driver from www.asio4all.com

I already have the lastest drivers installed so I dont think this is the problem

Yeah kleine's asio4all suggestion i would have put my money on sorting the problem .

Some more info that perhaps may help. When I try selecting ASIO4all for the Fast Track Pro, I get a pop up message saying the driver is not supported for this?

Please send me your Log.txt from
C:/Documents and Settings/yourusername/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preferences

Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1.Launch Explorer.
2.Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3.Check "Show hidden files and folders."

did anyone find a problem to this? i have the exact same problem, except i'm using ableton live 8. i've been hunting around on the ASIO4ALL forums as well with little luck.

i can see that my guitar (which is also being run through a fast track pro) is being picked up by ableton, as i can see the meter rise, but no sound, and no tone in the test either.

no test sound for me either got the correct drivers and pref settings etc...did anyone find a solution?

I've been having the same problem! I have a focusrite saffire 6 usb driver and everything was working fine until about two weeks ago. MME/DirectX works fine but as you all may know that driver doesn't let me record audio... =(

anybody have a solution to this??
