And please, be kind with the Ableton support guys. They proved me in the past that I'd better keep my mouth and think again at times.
yes, you're right...
i apologise to the Ableton team for "bitching" like this..............
The problem is not getting a reply to this topic and sending a lot of crashlogs for nothing..you know what i mean.

i'm just a bit nervous, because i have work to do, and it's irritating to have your main and favourite app crashing all the time.....
hope you understand...

:)

it's weird, I've got the exact same laptop setup as yours, and although it still crashes every now and then, it remains kinda stable
yep, we got the same setup, but it has more to do with plugins, i'm affraid, something went wrong since beta 10 in fact....
before that 8.05 beta were pretty stable..

8.0.5 Final, OS X on an iMac 2.8Ghz C2d here.

Still the same crashes for me too - Fabfilter plugins crashing randomly very frequently. Not reproducable really - i.e. the same steps won't casue two crashes in a row, but it can be something as simple as switching off an oscillator in Twin 2. Very disappointed :(

i solved my problems with a radical decision.......I've sold all my fabfilter plugins....(except FF one) :(

Sad, but my priority is the stability of my host...

With the money i got from the sell, i bought Dcam SynthSquad...and (fingers crossed), it's reliable for the moment....

I know my method is not the best, lol, but........

cheers

That's a shame :(

I spent some time this morning on this issue finally and can reproduce it 100% - the key factor seems to be the Novation ReMote, I notice you have one too.. or perhaps control surface behaviour in general, with FabFilter plugins.

With the ReMote enabled as a control surface I can crash Live with 3 clicks of FabFilter Twin. However, if you disable the control surface assignments in Live's Preferences, and just use the ReMote for simple midi input, there is no crash. It is unclear what part of the system is at fault here - Live, FabFilter or the ReMote, but I can reproduce this 100% and have made a simple project with one clip and one instance of Twin 2 that I am sending to Ableton and FabFilter.

Hum... I had a live set that I couldn't launch.. I moved Fabfilter plugs out of the plugs folder, and it's ok..
