Newbie question - Abletone Live 7 LITE

Hi, first of all I'm loving my experience with Ableton Live. I already have put getting Live 8 on my wish list.

Ok, so here's my situation, and forgive me if it's a duh answer.. :)

I downloaded a free Djembe sample set that I'm trying to setup as a drum kit and I'm not sure how to get it done. (they're .wav files - 90 in all)

Basically it has 3 velocity values and 5 variants per "note", so it's more complex than just using a single sample.

Can I do this with my current version?

Thanks for your time

John

I'd love a helpful reply if possible. Perhaps a regular 7 owner can say how it's done in the regular version if the Lite scares you from guessing. Thanks.

Unfortunately I did not see a way to do this with the LITE version of Live, cause the LITE version did not provide Drum or Instrument racks and did not contain the "Sampler" instrument for the ability of multisampling (with "Simpler" there is only the ability to have one sample at a time).

But I would recommend to restrict to 8 of the most useful Djembe-samples and then use the Ableton "Impulse" instrument Plug-In.

Or, if the LITE version is supporting VSTIs (do not know this exactly) then search for a free sampling Plug-In.

cheers, p.e.

yeah it runs VSTIs fine from what I can tell, I'll look for a sampler there, thanks.
