Playing drum kit's 16 pads with an 8 button controller?

Hey guys quick question. See, I have an M-audio Axiom 49 midi controller keyboard which has 8 trigger pads. This is perfect for impulse, but I tend to prefer using the drum kit which is much more customizable. Problem is, I can only play the lower half of the samples displaying with drum kit (8 out of 16) with my controller. So I was wondering, do any of you know how I could play the top half with my 8 buttons? Like is there some kind of modifier button of some sort I can press or hold that will play the top half? I can't even play the top half of drum kit's samples because scrolling up in the drum kit goes up an entire page to the next octave, only letting me play the lower half of that octave. So I have to move back down to the normal keyboard. Which is tolerable, but it'd be nice to not have to switch back and forth.

Long story short, I can only play drum kit's bottom half of samples with my drum pad, how can I play the top half? Thanks guys.

Assign the additional sounds you want in the lower half of the next octave, then... or better yet, save up to buy a Korg PadKontrol.

the Axiom is all well and good, but to have a true 16-pad controller is the way to go. PK has the best pad response. I've owned them all and nothing beats it.

You could also use 16 of the Axiom's keys to trigger your Drum Rack samples. Sometimes keys are easier to tap stuff out on, than pads. I started with keys, and used them for years.
