so what you think about the Discontinued products?
Pro-53
B4 II
Akoustik Piano
Elektrik Piano
imo was a nice move to include EP library to kontakt!
Now it is possible to go even more crazy with the pianos ;0
Also the classic line is so old !
I guess now NI can spend more time for perfecting the new products.
+1 for the reaktor... there should be something new

Me too... just curious tho, what the heck is reaktor missing? heh
All I can think about is FFT's but I've seen a few people get around this amazingly enough.

i picked up komplete 5 on the cheap (about $360 after bing cashback) and don't see myself exhausting its possibilities any time soon. i guess they had a lot of physical pressings of komplete 5 they had to unload before dropping this.

Akoustik Piano is a great plugin, they did a great job building that sample library. Hopefully that also gets included with Kontakt 4...

it's not that i'm missing something particularly. but there are some quirks, that make me want a new version.
osc implementation is still a little weak
audio input on my macbook pro doesn't work until you make it an aggregate device
external audio editor sometimes works sometimes not.
mouse areas don't take midi input
i have audio drop-outs, when i record stand-alone
that's just some observations.
plus i think, Reaktor just needs an update just because (it's been more than 4 years since the last one)

Yeah, surprised they are dropping Akoustik, that's one of my favorite sampled pianos...

Wow, what a disappointment imho. You pay $150 to upgrade to get 3 updates and 4 discontinued products (perceived value issue here?)

Also, I still really like Pro-53 and am sad to see that there will not be any updates for this anymore. I too am surprised to see Akoustik go as well as B4II. The B4II imho is the closest B3 emulation there is. What a disappointing update. I am sure I will skip this one, and honestly can't see a lot of people jump on this.

I posted last week about the 4 discontinued items goin on Sale on Dolphin Music a week ago - although I didnt know theyd be discontinued then, it makes sense now.
Tempted to jump on Pro53 before is dissapears into the ether.

Pretty much agree, Although Guitar Rig and Absynth are two of my favorites in Komplete 5. I'm all about waiting for bugfix updates on software before jumping in these days as well.
What I don't get is why Maschine or Kore software wouldn't be included? This way they get people hooked and sell them the hardware. Komplete is looking leen and no new products are introduced, just upgrades???

update
gearslutz
"Native Instruments has discontinued Akoustik Piano, B4 II, Bandstand, Elektrik Piano and Pro-53 as individual products on September 1st.
This allows Native Instruments to further concentrate its resources on those products and technologies that are of primary relevance for today's music production environments, and offer a focused product portfolio with minimal overlap. Technical support for users of discontinued products continues to be available.
Existing owners of Akoustik Piano, Bandstand and Elektrik Piano can use the content of these instruments with the free Kontakt Player as a powerful replacement. The Kontakt Player offers full-featured playback capabilities for these Kontakt-based instruments, as well as future-proof compatibility with the latest versions of relevant operating systems and plugin hosts.
Users can find alternatives to the discontinued instruments in the current product portfolio. Native Instruments will be offering the content of Akoustik Piano as individual instruments for download purchase in the near future. The instruments contained within Elektrik Piano are part of the Kontakt 4 factory library. As an alternative to the B4 II, the '57 Drawbar Organ instrument continues to be available."

So, let me get this strait: The big NI announcement for komplete 6 is some minor enhancements for absynth, some extra libraries for kontakt, a few modules for guitar rig, and the announcement that they are discontinuing several of their beloved products? Looks like they are getting rid of more than they are adding

I don´t get it...
This is not an official information from NI...just a dealer.
Hold you breath until NI is doing an announcement.
Anything else is time wasting.
