Asio driver M-Audio FW18/14 isn´t co-operate correct with ableton Live. I don´t know, maybe bug is at m-audio side. But Live is not able play simple sampel without cracking at bufersize 256 (latency in 6, out 8 ms). I don´t understand why, because cubasesx with same mafw asio driver haven't problem (same buffersize, latency in 7, out 9 ms). When I grow up buffer size on top (2048), live play sampel good, but more samples at a time can't manage, and CPU stress is hardly on 9%. Realtime performance with real instruments is not possible, in such instance.
My system is amd processor 1,7 GHz, 256 mb ram, win2000)

hey, ajem, i got an 1814, too. i use buffer 256 and never have had any problems (i do get pops with less than 256 when i record with a lot of tracks running, but this is understandable).

give m-audio a call, they have very good tech support: (626) 633-9055

thank you beachnote,
