So I was on the last day of my 8 day trip to Ibiza and some piece of crap for a human being decides there going to break into my rented car and steel my luggage which happens to have my Macboork Pro!!!! Then I have to deal with a 26 hour flight and to top it off, my car breaks down this morning when I tried to come to work.

What do you think are the odds of ableton giving the IP address of the next person to log into my ableton? This would be nice as I would not mind making another trip there just to have a friendly conversation with this douchebag!!

I would suggest email to [email protected] -- I'll bet that this is the kind of thing they're well equipped to do.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, you weren't by any chance playing hip-hop in the car that day were you cause if so I would ask beatsme his where abouts at the time of the incident.

We went on a cave tour and just left our luggage in the trunk of the car. When we got back, the lock was broken and all of our crap gone!!

As far as insured, i am not sure. I am just talking with my home insurance to see what they can do.

i sir...would cry if someone stole my macbook pro...this thing is like my life now with my music on it, sorry to hear this happened, find that douche and eff his ass uuuup

So now I think I may be screwed. I bought my macbook pro pretty much brand new from kijiji and did not receive a receipt and did not really care since I got a good deal. This is quite the problem now since my insurance company wants to see a receipt for the item. Not sure what I will do now.

You can still get the receipt, or at least a written statement from the seller that you bought it.

I don't really have any advice... Just here to sympathize. That sucks. Hope everything works out.

No no, you have it all wrong. The person who STOLE the laptop listens to Hip Hop and is probably replacing all the Electronica in the laptop with Hip Hop as we speak. Also very upsetting on top of this other bullshit.

The one nice thing about all this is the ableton software is not lost as all I have to do is transfer the keys. This might be the only silver lining in all of this.

Wasn't some company working on technology that would brick any computer reported stolen that tries to connect to the internet?

sorry to hear about your loss, but isnt there a way to track the computer with that mobile me?... or .me or whatever the apple service is called? Dont know too much about it tho...
