Rename multiple clips at once

I'm actually surprised that this isn't an option already. Instead of having to rename every clip individually, I'd love to be able to select a whole bunch of clips, across a whole bunch of tracks and label them 'chorus' or 'verse' or 'banana' or whatever. It's not like we can't individually name clips the same name as another clip in the session, why not let us rename as many as we want, at a time?

you can do this
highlight all the clips you want to be the same name
look at the clips box at the bottom left
it will tell you how many clips you have highlighted
rename the clips
hit enter
all clips renamed

that's fantastic, thanks for pointing that out. although, once again, the abes have found a way to slow down productivity. it's so dumb that the command+r shortcut doesn't work for more than one clip at a time.

is it really slowing down productivity to draw a box round a bunch of clips
click the name box, type the words and hit enter?

Is there a way to do this, but append numbers to the end. I often end up with like 30+ clips with different loops from a single synth jam. I'd like to rename all thirty and have it add a number to the end so that I can tell them apart later. Logic has shortcuts for this, does Ableton?

Ableton does not have such splendorous shortcuts for their flagship Live, no. I have trouble getting Cmd(Ctrl-R to work reliably so basically I'm not using it as first choice. My guess is there is a MFL solution or there is ClyphX Pro.
