about the competition:

i think it was a fun thing to do, but there is lots of room for improvement. There's really no point in having a competition with voting if there are only going to be 20 votes and they aren't even going to be counted correctly. So basically, i think this thing should be more formalized or do away with the voting and the idea of a winner. Post a challenge, give a very limited time to complete it, and then post tracks and .als's without any weird attempts at anon voting. Basically, i won't bother if it goes the same way this one went, not that anybody cares what i think.

I'm open to suggestions on how to handle the next beat battle. Winning is always fun, but the real fun in this competition was the challenge and the limitations.
I was thinking maybe having a 45 seconds limit, and maybe like a fake advertisement in .mov to sync it up.
It won't be until next week at least, let people work on their own music for at least 1 week-end before having another forum battle.

well, at least i'm glad i wasn't the only one who thought it was normal to vote for myself, Macguffin.
Of course doing it is the fun part, but if it's a competition there is something WRONG with you if you don't want to try to win.

lol yes, well in elections candidates are allowed to vote for themselves, so I can't see why not.
But at the same time, it's okay to admit that others did better than you.
In this case, I honestly thought #6 was better than mine. I just gave myself a sympathy vote because I didn't realize at the time that the poll was f*cked and I found it sad I had zero votes hehehehe.

i was pulling rules from other battles that have worked quite well. if you want to blame someone for the poll failing blame cperezzzz

All things considered... ballot jacking etc. etc. I think it was cool.
I just had to dig to find this thread. I was thinkin "shit who won??" and went on the hunt. i didn't see it pop up on radar. My point is that its hard to get more votes if people don't know its happening... out of sight out of mind and all that.

didn't dom throw out the idea of a little inhouse support in one of the threads??? (new forum section perhaps???) - oh and there's another reason that it was harder to find. 3 threads that i know of... that splits the bumps, as well as views, up considerably.

I still think that it would be cool to tie them all together into one sick megamix of freakishness... Livenstein's Monster

Whoa whoa whoa, We were complaining about dishonesty in the digital polling, with entry #6 getting more than twice the amount of votes than there were people visiting the thread.... and now it turns out that it was you, the controller of the poll?!?

I thought it was strange that cheating was suggested but the name never come out.
I need some explaining...
