I got two projects that are pretty much the same - an audio track with a sample, a MIDI track with a drum rack and another MIDI track with a bassline, and various plugins here and there.

But the second project is twice as big (in filesize). I based the second project off the first one though, so I didn't have to redo everything. Maybe this brought in some leftover garbage like the previous project's undo history etc.?

I know this is often the case with design applications like Adobe Flash or Adobe InDesign - where the solution is either to use a "Save and Compact" function or saving the project into a new file.

Any thoughts?

File -> Manage Files...
Then select Manage project. this shows you all filesin the project (=all live sets in that project folder) and shows you which aren't used by any sets in that project so you can delete them.

The other possibility is to resave the set in a different location when you're finished and then select "collect all & save" which then makes a copy of all files used in that set in the new folder and then you can delete the original. This is also very useful incase you move your library because all files are contained within the project, so then you dont have to go search for them all in the new library

Actually none of the projects have any redundant files in them, so the problem must lie elsewhere.

Also I'm talking exclusively about the .als file - the first is some 500KB, second some 900KB.
