Using a Dell inspiron 1525 and an Audio Kontrol 1.. WHY DO I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY WIRELESS TO USE IT!

If I am using the internet I get 2 second drop outs about every minute, and it goes away when I turn off my wireless card.

This makes streaming concerts on places like iclips.net or youtube impossible because I can't buffer them without my internet on, and I can't listen to them when it is on because it drops out ALL THE TIME!

This is pretty rediculous, can't use internet while using soundcard, have to choose one or the other.

The funny thing is, I had it working fine for a while, then my AK1 stopped working so I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and it is working, but it is messing up because of the wireless card.

Yah, bummer. Sometimes wireless cards, and often video cards, cause audio dropouts. Back In The Day, you would see similar problems with certain (cheaper) modems, called winmodems, which were notoriously processor-intensive.

These dropouts are usually the result of poor driver programming, and a device's desire/need for system resources, mainly processor, ram, or interrupts.
Hop onto some Dell forums and see if you can get alternative drivers for your wireless chipset, there may be some newer reference drivers available that aren't dell-branded. Also make sure all of your supporting system drivers are up-to-date, especially relevant system chipset and USB drivers.

Another oft-hidden culprit for audio dropouts on laptops is power management; under Device Manager, go to the properties of your wireless card and check out the Advanced tab. By default, wireless cards are designed to save as much power as possible, but constantly switching between power levels can cause audio dropouts (as well as other problems). Try disabling any power saving features. Some Utilities, such as RMClock, can be used to disable other hidden power-saving "features" that aren't normally accessible through your control panel.

try disabling unused bands in the wireless driver. they often have a, b, and g enabled (and some even have n). disable all except the one you really use (that's g for the most of the time), but especially disable a, as it can create some audio stuttering.

after that, it should not have dropouts anymore. if it still has, you have to try other drivers..

disabling the 'a' mode helped me on 3 systems with dropouts.
