Do I really have to upgrade to use the RG3 Pedal as a MIDI controller

I mean come on NI,

I already bought it for that purpose only to find out you cant use it as a MIDI controller. It has its own unique protocol

Now you say I can but I have to pay more to get those features

Its the same pedal board! I think you should give anyone who bought the board those features. Like they did with Kore 2.

You should have read well before buying Guitar Rig.Since version 1 they stated this thing about the own protocol of the RK.

Oh I know I'm a guitarist so its not like I dont use the thing

but It would be so nice to have it as a MIDI controller as well

It's well built compared to the other foot controllers I've seen

and you dont know till you find out .... and I found out

Anyway, it's happening And the upgrade is only $79, new amps, effects, etc.
