Here's a few presets in case anyone is interested...

1. There is a Multi Band effects rack, which serves as a template in case you want to divide up the FX per band (otherwise it works just like EQ3).
2. There is a Distortion Rack, which can be switched between Redux (bit reduction), Dynamic Tube, Saturator, Overdrive, frequency shifter and then a combo of all 5.
3. Lastly, there is a multi-band distortion rack, which simply has the above distortion rack divided per 3 bands.

The multiband distortion rack runs between 10% and 18% on my dual core, but I still find this device useful.

I did not include a compressor or filter on each band, but I did my best to adjust the volume levels of each chained device and band to make sure there weren't loud burst when switching between distortion types.

The 3 files are contained in a .zip file and can be downloaded from here: http://www.box.net/shared/o1cst0sfjy

And of course.... here are some highly offensive, high contrast images (these hurt my eyes, but at least you can see things quickly).

EQ3 is more of a DJ EQ, than one for audio production (it colours the sound and the crossovers between the bands are never transparent)
But Tarekith once made an EQ8 rack that did the same as EQ3 but without the draw backs. Maybe you could look into using this instead for splitting the bands.
Otherwise: Thanks! It's always nice seeing someone give something back to the community :)

Hey all,

I did this 4 years ago (and posted 4 years ago)... I won't be updating this anytime soon. If someone else wants to, please go for it... there's also new distortion tools that weren't available when I did this, like Softube's amp.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was a necro bump.
And you are right this is not really needed any more.
Cheers
