setting up mpd for live use like an mpc

i'm just wondering if this is possible as i can't think of a way.

i would like to have a drum rack set up with a 16 bar clip looping, set to record with quantize on. I'd like to be able to bash out a beat and it records and loops, but then be able to have a key assigned as an erase key (like the erase key on an mpc) so i could hold the erase key and a pad simultaneously and it would erase the sounds on that pad.

not sure if i've explained that well or if its even possible. any help would be appreciated.

I'm on live 7 and i have an mpd24.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT!!! 8O I don't understand why this is not an option, as it's the best way to program drum loops (for me) - and almost any decent drum machine allows this. I program MUCH faster when this is possible.
