I'm may be dense here and missing the obvious, but here goes...

Is there a way to run a line in (mic, guitar, etc.) and do the following simultaneously
- turn off monitoring
- process and listen to an effects rack (wet only - dry signal will be heard at board)
- record the signal to a track

yes yes and yes...

make an audio track... mute it... arm it for recording..... make another audio track, pur fx rack into it, set its input to listen to the first audio track, set it to "in" under monitor.

Follow up question. How do I now get that effect channel to turn on/off and maybe even change volume?
