Hi! I'm currently using the Ableton Live Demo, and it really impresses me but there are 2 things, which does cause me to worry:

1. I'm getting the same error message often when I drag a mp3 file into live's session view: But i CAN open these files with programs like foobar or vlc. My solution is to change the mp3-tags, by deleting the comments in it or removing the album cover, and saving the file. Sometimes it's just to open the file, change one letter and save it again. My files aren't protected or locked by windows. Why does live do that? Why it's not playin these files like other software?

2. I've got an really old Masterkeyboard from YAMAHA, a KX-88. All my stand-alone plugins working properly with the old one over midi. Live too, but only the first minutes. After a while of striking keys, live is starting to stumble. So i can press a key, and nothing happens, sometimes i'm getting a response, sometimes not. It's the same when i press a key on my pc-keyboard. When this happens, i have to restart live. I think i could be my old midiboard which makin' such problems, maybe it sends to many midi data or failure midi data, but other software like Korgs Digital Collection works.

So i'm a little bit confused. I've searched for problems like that, but couldn't find anything. Is there no one who have made experiences like that, especially with point 1.?

ok, forget point 2.

BUT: Is there really nobody, who gets the same error message sometimes? I mean this:

"The File .... could not be read. It may be corrupt or not licensed."

I was - I can't remember if it was down to vbr compression or mp3s lurking in another users my documents.

i get this error no matter whether it is an vbr mp3 or an cbr mp3. it is crazy, sometimes i can open a file for 2 weeks and suddenly it won't go. Then I have to save it again with different tags or something to get these mp3s back to work. All my other software has no problems with it.
If somebody had problems like this before, let me know.
If nobody else had problems like this before, let me also know. I want to figure it out, maybe it's only my system.

What the eff. I've got that problem. Just started with Live 8 after a fresh install... I thought it was from having W7 on another partition, and some weird DRM stuff happening.

I'm real confused.

There are other threads about this.. see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=121953.

It sucks cause a couple of the files it happened to me on were actually recorded in Live!

I think that thread has a little more information you'd want to check out.
