i am have what i believe to be usb conflict issues and could use some recommendations

the most expensive usb hubs are way cheaper then an 8 channel midi interface and power adapters for all my controllers so i would like to try and see if a good usb hub will resolve my issues.

this is our rig
mac book pro, padkontroller, mpd24, mpd32, apc40, e-mu usb midi interface

(we also have a yamaha foot controller, trition le, mopho, fcb1010, dk10 but none of these connect via usb)

when i have them all hooked up either the apc 40 or the mpd32 will not work
when i just run the mpd32, apc40, and korg it all works but i feel i am having some issues.
last night during our show all of our usb devices dropped.. with the exception of my mpd32 which would work intermittently.. i was able to finish the song but i had to kill the set and play a record (i'm not a dj but all the dj's where m.i.a. hehe)

so any suggestions for usb hubs or ideas?

belkin are good minus the fact that they send you a foot long power adapter...wtf is that, what am i to do with a cord that can barely reach anything at all

selling points for me are

I second d-link. Doesn't look like it came out of a vending machine. Adaptor I a bit flimsy. Get a backup for live. They're cheap

ah this is a great idea, a lot less space than a midi interface.... do you think that you could use a few of these and a USB hub as a replacement to a hardware midi interface?

apart from making sure enough power is available, it's also worth checking out which internal devices are on each USB bus of your MBP and what their speeds are, as the left and right USB ports are on separate internal USB hubs... look that up in the System Profiler...

it's not always necessary to worry about it, but it can sometimes help to group devices with similar speeds on the same bus... i.e. USB 2.0 devices together, and the slower USB 1.0/1.1 devices on a separate bus...
