New controller design concept.

I am in the process of developing a unique style of controller. It may be a little hard to describe in detail without pictures, but here goes :-
Basically it is a disc about the size of a CD that you are able to place your hand on, locating a thumb and finger into holes on the outside. You can then
Twist it or spin it 1 - Axis (operate it like vinyl)
Push it forwards, backward and sideways 2 - Axis
Roll it forwards, backwards and sideways 2 - Axis
This gives it 5 Axis input
Also you can press any of the 9 centrally located buttons.
The uniqueness comes from the fact that because you can spin it, all the axes and buttons are dependent on the position of the disc, ie. North, South, East or West. Each direction could be colour coded to correspond to the apropiate colour code of each clip, bank or sample. ie. spin the disc to green and the axis and button control is automatically assigned to any clip that is coloured green.
Each direction can be setup to open any other software window automatically, with the control axes and buttons set up for that application.
Each direction can also be setup to open any view, function, vst etc. and control it with preset functions on the buttons, axes etc.
Each button would be backlit to show it's status (on-off) with the status being updated dependent on the rotary position.
This in effect gives you 5 X 4 = 20 Axis and 9 X 4 = 36 buttons.
Use two hands with 2 units and you have 40 Axis 72 button input.
Where else can you adjust 10 pots simultaneously in realtime, normally it is 2.
With the addition of a similar foot controller, non-spinnable with 5 axis + 11 buttons at the side this gives a total of :
25 simultaneous axis input + 83 button inputs.
The unit could also double up as a mouse control device, to control any part of the software dependent on button press.
You should never have to take your hands off the device to access and control ANY part or function of Ableton.

Just looking for feedback really, as I say it is in development but need your thoughts on the usefulness of such a device ??
Any other wishlist features, please let me know.
I hope this describes the units enough, maybe a bit confusing but if you want design pictures let me know.
