Inscrutible Finger

Anyone out there using the Finger, except to pick their nose? (Sorry, it really is irresistible) The manual indeed blows. I’ve got it running and it’s CAF but it’s tough to get deeply into it. Absolutely a must for Live though!

OK here goes:

The Finger comes with KSD’s, which would be frickin’ wonderful if there was a single reference in the manual as to what a KSD is. I guess it’s what plants crave…

The Finger Ensemble sounds like the best way to edit, but there’s no info on how to actually OPEN it. Help! Do I need to buy Kore 2 to get into this? Or Reaktor?

Can I map a hardware button to the Seq 1 and Seq 2 buttons? They are insanely cool, but I have no idea what they’re doing. Maybe I should stop worrying. It seems that whatever effect I have open in the Kore Global Controller has its own effect when you toggle on one of the Seq buttons. My question is do I have to load an FX into the Global Controller to get that particular effect, or does the last keyboard note I play automatically switch the Global Controller to the corresponding sound?

To Tim; awesome product! If you teach me how to use it, I’ll translate the manual into English from Ebonics or Swahili or whatever the hell it’s written in. ;-)

BTW I think a cool setup would be to map Finger FX to buttons on my Faderfox instead of a keyboard. I lose velocity sensitivity, but some of the sounds are quite difficult to control via velocity. I should be able to knock down the ear puncturingly loud FX in Finger Ensemble, right :-/ Perhaps I can also map the mod wheel to a pot somewhere on a different controller?

Yeah, from what I gather, you need Kore or Reaktor or whatever the hell those things are called in order to get proper control.
And the fact that there's no demo available is the final nail in the coffin, as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to get
Artillery 2 instead. I've had a lot of fun trying out the demo the last couple of days.

Yeah, there are certainly some shortcomings, but it's truly a monster. And 70 clams? It's well worth it even though I have no clue what it's doing

Honestly, I can't get myself to see what this plugin does million times better than dummy clips mapped to a keyboard, as I can have them route independently through chain setups and in that way modulate each other. Looping is simple, scale/pitch changes of the same loop is simple and to lay it out on a keyboard is even simpler.

Tell me if I have missed the whole point as a lot of people praise this? I'm just not getting what it does compared to the above and ex. Sugarbytes Effectrix combined.

there's no way you can reproduce this device in Live..
what's so special is that it can dynamically change the order of the FX in the FX chain, in real time, as you play the keys..

I would like to know how looping can be done in the same manner as The Finger using only Ableton Live. I messed around with Beat Repeat and without Bomes, I don't think there is a way to replicate what is very easy to pull off with The Finger. By the way, I haven't messed with Bomes.
