More Audio Units/VST 'Plug In' problems.

Hi - i'm new to 'Live' and this forum so hello all.
I'm a bit blown away by Live 4 !!
Having read some strands on here there do seem to be lots of 'bugs' though !!
One of the big ones i have found is that if i try to use a Plug Sound (Audio Units) plug-in (from the Ultimate Sound Bank range) the dreaded Apple 'Beachball' pops up - and doesn't go away !!
The plugin just doesnt load.
I have to 'force quit' Live each time.
Also my Mac dual 1.25 G4 (1 gig ram) seems to be working much harder than usual when running Live 4 - than say Logic Pro or Reason - that i also use.
Some G4 Altivec optimisation would be nice (and dual monitor support)!!
Amazing programme otherwise though. Makes Logic look quite dated.
