+1 This is exactly what I'm thinking APC40 seems better for studio use but for traveling around playing the LP seems like it would rock.

Yeah, the APC is kind of a beast, and I don't own a backpack that can accommodate the damn thing. However, the Launchpad looks a good bit smaller.

Does Launchpad work with Live7? I mean without Automap. I haven't made the upgrade yet.

I'm really glad I didn't get the APC now.
This looks just like the 'apc minimal edition' that a few of us were talking about a few months back.

A reasonable price and it matches up well with my existing hardware. IE : it doesn't replicate what I already have, it simply adds what I did not have.

As long as the build quality is average or better I can see me stacking a couple of them.

Launchpad requires Ableton Live 7 or higher.
