Stereo imaging plugin?

Does anyone know of a good plugin that can make something wider in the stereo field? Something like the stereo image parameter of Ozone 4 that doesn't slaughter CPU would be awesome. Thanks!

Ozone 4 works fine on my single core processor, you might want to use the nativity ableton plugs under utilities.

I'd really rather not drop an instance of Ozone on everything I want to widen. What do you mean by "nativity ableton plugs under utilities"?

Voxengo Stereo Touch - a good freebie but PC only.

Otherwise, Waves S1 or Sonalksis Stereo Tools are awesome, but pricey.

I guess you've tried using Utility and that didn't do it for you ?

Stereo Touch is also available for Mac in VST or AU format. But it's designed for a different purpose: to create a stereo signal out of a mono one. Voxengo's MSED is the way to go.

Try bx_solo from brainworx, this one does it for me:

Come on, don't be that harsh.
Esp. for mono compatibility or when mastering for vinyl it is a pretty essential tool:
