I just bought a Korg Nano Kontrol and like it, but seems everytime I plug it in and change some settings and hit save
and start up again, The Korg does not remember the settings. Is this normal?
Does it have an internal memory or one has to load the scene file everytime?

Mine works fine. Settings defined using the kontrol editor software stayed on the device. It sounds like yours is broken.

yes, maybe broken or something weird..It should stay to the device.
Maybe I am saving wrong or something. What do you select when you save?
I should not have to even open the editor to use, once I save it.

you need to commit 'save' a setting via the editor, otherwise you will loose all settings, yup.

and check this out if you have a nanoKONTROL. (taken from another thread...)

there is a fairly dull product and a guy comes along (really don't believe the companies are not capable..!?) and turns it into pure gold.

if you go along the Myralfur MYR script thread you will find an alternative version... the SUB version (thanks again to Myralfur for tuning it)

worth a try which one suits your needs better...

and in conjunction with the editor you can maximize it even further...

i can now control 32 tracks automatically or choose to have one scene for device control, etc...
i customized myself 4 versions for different needs...

Also is that save set: Communication/ "Write Scene set" or "Write Scene Data"? Kind of the same?

write scene set does all 4. write scene data just does 1.
The scripts allow the nanokontrol to launch/record clips, move the clip selection around, automatically assign the sliders to the first 16 track meters, automatically assign the knobs to a selected devices macro controls and some other stuff which is just as good.

the coolest thing is that in conjunction with the nano editor you can customize it extremely easy further...

just as an example...

you can having scene 1 controlling the first 8 channels and scene 2-4 racks, devices and max/msp stuff

or having 1-32 channels for large mixing projects under control... etc. etc.

or using the 'standard' scene 1-2 channels 1-16 and scene 3-4 devices / max/msp

i made 4 custom scenes for my needs that enhance the MYR/SUB script and it just takes 5 seconds to load those scenes... wonderful.

those enhancement possibilities (and they are dead easy to accomplish, i am a total zero when it comes to programming and i managed it on my own!)
is the main reason why i am raving like mad about it.

Not sure if anyone can help, but I'm looking to use the Nano Kontrol for djing live with Live, and wondered if anyone could be so kind as to point me in the right direction of where I might find the best midi map set up/recommendation?
