Personally, I've always gone for numero uno, but that's not what I hear in online videos.

Then again, I pronounce "vocoder" like "encoder"... :D :roll:

If so, it really is just pronounced like Flange...with an R on the end.

This is not pronounced like any of the options you gave.

i pronounce it like stranger, because that sounds a bit like the effect it produces.. it "fleeeiiinsches" around (in german)

Its pronounced "Flanj-er", or as a previous poster stated flange, with an R on the end

and if someone doesn't know or understand it, maybe because of different pronunciation, then i just say, "the tschiiiieeeeeeeuwwwwwww-effect, you know". and all say "aaah, the flanger" :) (with the fingers, like laser in austin powers)
