Keyboard shortcut for add Midi track often doesn't work

I'm running Live 8 on OSX 10.4, but I've had the problem over Live 6 and 7.

I can add an audio track in the session view using ?T with no problems. Supposedly I should be able to add a midi track using shift-?T, but I rarely get that to work (nothing happens). Thinking about it, I don't this has worked at all since I got Live 8, before it worked occasionally.

Right-clicking and selecting "Insert MIDI Track" works, as well as choosing the menu option.

Any ideas how I might fix this? No showstopper, but I like to use the keyboard and think I ought to be able to do that here.

Appreciate any suggestions.

That's very strange. You're using the full Live 8, right? Not some limited version with a limited max track count...?

Aw Christ... I've been living with this for a couple of years and moments after I've finally posted a quiestion here on the forum I find the solution myself. I noticed that once when I pressed shift command T an eeire voice started talking. Turns out I had the post it app on and I had selected some text - shift command T is a shortcut for the speech synth on my computer! T for "tal", which is swedish for speech.

After digging around (the speech shortcut isn't in the general shortcut preferences, but has its own key selection in the speech prefs), I turned it off, and now I can create midi tracks with that key in Live!

So, well, if you get this kind of problem on a Mac, check your keyboard shortcuts!

Thanks for your answer anyway (yes, it's the full version I'm running)! :)
