Ableton 8 will not expose VST/AU parameters

Hi,
After upgrading to Ableton 8 (Live) I have found it a bit cumbersome to work with VST/AU plugins. This is due to parameters not being exposed in Arrangement view for envelopes unless the control is clicked on first. Is this by design? I miss the big list.

This is by default in 8 and imho a welcome one, as you avoid the inevitable clutter of parameters you didn't even use or know of. Just map the ones you want, it takes less time then finding them via the old way!
You can actually remedy this somewhat yourself if there are any VST settings you tend to use all the time! Simply map the things once, and save that as a preset in Live. next time you add the VST preset you made, those desired parameters is readily available across all projects, and you can still change the presets or modulations in the actual VST without affecting anything in the live preset.

Thanks for the reply. With the preset idea, this will actually be an improvement.
