Hi

I get a blank warning message and it just crashes. Nothing changed on my computer, and everything else on it works great.
The warning message says nothing so there is no indication what could be wrong. I didn't do any updates on my computer
recently either, which may interfere with the program.

1) I tried with 8.0.1 (.3 and .5) none of them work so it can't be the version.

2) I removed all of the Ableton files from my computer (OSX 10.4.11) and still nothing worked after a clean install so
it can't be a corrupt file or missing file.

3) I tried moving the plug-in files to another folder so it can't be to do with the plug-ins.

4) I loaded the program both with a project and just by triggering the project is it isnt an issue with that so it can't be to do
with the projects.

5) I am confused! :S

Hi, when removing the Ableton files, did you remove the ones in other folders (e.g. <user>/library/preferences/ableton)? If not, I'd recommend trying just to delete the preferences.cfg file from that folder (subfolder according to your live version) and also the Template.als and seeing if that helps. Also, try disconnecting any external HW too.

i have no hw connected atm.

i never found the preferences file..

tried Live 7.0.16. doesnt work either

Update: tried new user account and that does not work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Use 8.0.5.
Try to clean your cache folder (remove the content) from
/Users/Library/Application Support/Ableton/WebCache
and
/Users/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 8.0.5/Database
and remove your "Preferences.cfg" and if available, the "Undo.cfg" and "Template.als" files from
/Users/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 8.0.5

Thank you.

I have removed these. There is really no trace at all of Live on my system.
Any advice on what to do next?

Cheers. I checked them, I didnt see any trace of them. Perhaps they just slipped through the net..
