warp preference request

I would love to be able to record in arrangement view without my track being automatically warped. In recording an acoustic instrument for a composition where tempo is not an issue, I'm doing several takes on the same track, which I will edit later. Each time I play back a new take I have to first unwarp the new clip. Some say that I shouldn't hear a difference with warp on or off, but alas, I do.
I am fully aware of the endless threads on the subject of undesired warping and thought I should add my voice to those pleading for a little more control over the use, or not, of the warp. I should add that I am quite pleased by the results I get with the new complex pro mode in Live 8 when creating non tempo-based clips that I wish to loop without having to reset the clip's tempo in order to avoid ugly sounds.
