Undo.cfg Error

I got the following message after saving a (previously saved) set and then deleting a VSTi:

Error seeking file "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4.0.3\Prefernces\Undo.cfg".

It kept doing that everytime I tried to do anything that could be undone, until I closed Live, and then it gave me this:

Error closing file "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4.0.3\Prefernces\Undo.cfg".

Then it did the "Serious error has occurred", and wouldn't let me close out, so I had to kill the process.

The Undo.cfg file was there.

Now I'm going to bed.

Hello no_barcode,

I recommend to manually delete the "Undo.cfg" and your "Preferences.cfg" files. You´ll find them here:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4.0.3\Prefernces\

Best,
Ch. Kleine

im getting really sick of this fuckin problem, too. it happens 100% of the time if i have a korg legacy cell vsti. and also has happened to me with absynth 2.0.4. and if the latter happens, i also get the infamous "memory read access error 0xsoandso" about 25% off the time after i do exit, even with an end task.

having to End Task on this $500 dollar piece of software every time is becoming common place for me and it grows very, very tiresome....

and ive already tried deleted pref/undo.cfg and all sorts of shit, and its the same shit no matter what.

Um, yeah - I know where the file is. It seems to delete itself after I close the progam successfully. However, if it grows too large Ableton poops.

I'm hoping to hear something like "yes, that is a known issue and we are working to resolve it."

And, I hear ya beachnote.

beachnote - I'm feelin' ya and I've just been saying to this guy on MSN - "as much as I love Live to bits its still fuckin flakey even this far down the line.."

Just been hit with this exact problem re: the undo.cfg bollox.

Nothing worse than working hours on tracks then going back to them only to discover that the Ableton Gremlin has "seriously errored" all over my files.. thanks very much... now what ?!!!?!?
