Latency while editing

Post by stefan-tiedje » Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:19 pm

There is a very high latency when editing a patch in Max (feels like more than 100 ms for 128 samples vector size in Max and Live).
Is that normal/unavoidable? Its not a big deal, I am just curious...

If you can show that the latency is not correctly compensated for then it would be a bug, but there are a lot of things we need to do to keep reasonably good performance while in the editor so extra latency is unavoidable.

I am a live guy, I recognize latency when playing live (in knob activated on the track), which is impossible to compensate unless you patch faster than the speed of light...;-)

The difference is huge though...
