Faux-Sampled Beats

My latest obsession is to create Hip Hop beats that sound like they contain chopped samples of old vinyl records. The only thing is, everything is original. I call them 'Faux-Sampled Beats'. Below is a link to the making of my first Faux-Sampled Beat. I also have another beat posted on the same site and I'm working on many more. Each time, I find new and interesting effects and methods to make them sound more authentic. The idea is to first compose the song that will be used for the sample. For this, I've listened to a lot of early 70s jazz, funk, and soul music. Once I have the original song (of course it doesn't have to be an entire song since I'm only sampling a few bars), I then add all kinds of effects to make it sound like it came from vinyl. Then I chop it up and add even more effects to make it sound like it was sampled on an old-school (i.e. SP-1200) sampler. Then I layer additional drums and sub to give a true 90s-style hip hop feel. Nothing is quantized and I use Addictive Drums + Jamstix 2 for the original drum/perc tracks. It's really a lot of fun. I know there's been discussion on this board about using Live to simulate classic era movie sounds. I'm wondering if there is anyone reading this that has done something similar to what I'm doing. Enjoy!
