Can anybody recommend (very) cpu efficient plugins that would work well on a MacPowerBook 2.4 GHz core 2 duo with 2gb RAM?

The Plug-ins for Live are designed to be less cpu intensive. I'm not sure what sound your going for? If you provide me with some examples I can help you out better.

i don´t know if they are especially cpu efficient, but these work just fine for me:
