hi, i am trying to map the bpm (upper left, right next to the 'tap') and i am having difficulty. with my other midi controller i simply hit the map tab in live and then clicked on the bpm and then i could link any knob that i wanted. however with the akai it doesnt seem to work like that? i have looked in the manual, and its vague. perhaps someone is familiar with this unit and can point me in the right direction.

Erhm... are you sure you're doing the right mapping procedure? Mine works fine and is mapped to the upper right Pan button with varying max/min bpm.
CTRL/CMD + M enters the correct mode, and as long as your APC midi settings are correct in the preferences, you should have a working setup.

what is /CMD? hmm, still doesnt work, i think i need to call akai and have them walk me through it.

CMD = Command.....

You need to do a search and check your midi settings are correct for the APC, there's about a million posts on this....

Yeah Its sounds to me like he doesnt have Remote enabled on the Input of the APC 40 in Live's Preferences.

remote isnt selected as default.
