Remap 'unmapable' buttons on Remote SL MKII???

Before the latest version of Automap Pro killed my Remote SL (not doing much, always asks to update OS on SL, never succeeds), I had somehow (godknowshow?) managed to get the buttons on the far right of my SL mapped to select scene up/down and stop/start clip in advanced mode, even though the novation documentation says that these buttons cannot be mapped to anything else.
Now that I know this is false, I was wondering if anyone else has managed to do this and remap all of the buttons on the SL (without using a 3rd party program like bome's)?
This would give me more than 20 more buttons to play with and an endless encoder, sweet!
