Aftertouch on my Novation SL61 resets project tempo

For some reason, aftertouch on my novation sl61 sometimes resets the projects tempo to 0 BPM. Really odd... Anybody know what might be causing this to happen?

check with midi monitoring software if your controller is sending something unexpeced besides aftertouch info. here's for mac
http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ should be plenty counterparts for pc.
