I installed the driver from the Novation site as admin, plugged in the controller and it installed properly.
Booted up live and selected track and remote for ins/outs... Nothing is going on at all.

Nothing on the launchpad, nothing showing in live. Device shows up as working properly.

Do I need to use 8.0.8? I'm using Windows 7 + Live 8.0.4

Update to Live 8.0.8. Adding Launchpad functionality was part of the update.

I think 8.0.8 was the only release that added the Launchpad as a supported device. Check the changelog...

Yeap I'm downloading as we speak... Just making sure I don't have a DOA unit. (If that was the case I'd need to haul ass back to the store.)

You need live 8.0.6 minimum.

Thought they jumped from 8.0.5 to 8.0.8. Been using 8.0.4 since I haven't had any issues with it.

Anywho I got it working... Just had to select the controller in 8.0.8 for it to light up anything at all.

theres is no 8.0.6 lol they skipped it.

Does the launchpad only work with live 8? cause i'm still back at live 7 and i'm considering buying the launchpad. if it's not registered automatically by live 7 could i still register it as a "generic" midi controller and program the lights (using Pd or max/msp)? also, could it be possible to reconfigure it completely through programming with max or Pd? I'll let you guys know as i pull this off, which won't be soon.

yes there is, its on every disc that was stuck in a lauchpad box.
