Tempo Hotkeys?

I've been using Ableton Live for about two years, and, I've not been able to find something. It has to do with setting various hotkeys for changing tempo.

I know you can control the tempo's parameters via assigning it to a midi knob/fader/etc., and also a key, but, with the key, it only allows you to go form one of two options to another.

I'm looking to be able to press one button for one tempo, another for another, and so on... not just one button for two different tempos.

Do I need to wait until Max for Live comes out so I can program a patch to be able to do that? Do I need to purchase regular Max, learn that, and run some VST like thing? Any help would be great!

I think you need a couple buttons sending the same MIDI CC #.. but they will send different values.. So the first one sends the value to change it to 90bpm, second button (same CC #) sends the value to change it to 110bpm or whatever.. Not sure how this is going to work since there are 128 values and the tempo goes from 20-999 or something, right?

I'm gonna try it out and get back to you cause it'd be nice to have a few tempo hotkeys in my setup. It'd also be nice to have + and - buttons to press and hold and the tempo would slowly rise or fall depending on how long you press/hold. I think THAT is something for M4L

Hey man, good news it totally works.

Set up 6 pads on my nanoPAD to send MIDI CC # 50.
First pad sends MIDI value "1" for the off AND on values.
Second pad sends MIDI value "2" for both the off AND on values.
Third pad, sends MIDI value "3" for both the off AND on values you get the point..

Then I went into MAP mode, clicked the tempo number, pressed on of the pads, doesn't matter which cause they're all the same, ya know?

Then still in MAP mode I set the min value at 88 and max at 140 (the range that my songs fit into)

So when I hit the first pad it went to like 99.23 or something, shouldve made it value 0, so that it is 88, but button 2 went to like 102.89 or something so matching up the values with a tempo is going to be really crazy, maybe some kind of math wizard can help you..
