then these are defective....they lack smell and probably awesome. I would return immediately ask the clerk for a Launchpad w/smell. Explain that the smell=awesome and that you didn't pay your hard earned cash for an no smell and no awesome.

Ahhh, the smell of inspiration... that Chinese lead will get your mojo working. I'm waiting for the unleaded version.

I purchased mine on Sunday. It is now Thursday, and the smell is mostly gone. It was really overpowering, and not in a pleasant "new electronics" way. It was more like dog urine and rotten meat. If I get my face close to the thing, I can still get a high. That said, it isn't to the "oh my God this thing needs to go back in the box" level any more.

Put a baking soda on a damp cloth and wipe it in the plastic area of the launchpad. Leave the residue until it's dry, then wipe the residue off by a clean damp cloth again. In a few days it'll be gone.
Equipments: Softwares, hardwares, plastics and metal controllers, computers, headphones, a pair monitor speaker, and electricity to power them up.

As stupid as it sounds - its the exact smell that the Mac Pro emitted, and i repaired lots of them back in the day. The smell seems to come from the pads but its slowly getting better.

Cheers
