MidiLFO for OSX

Hi guys,
together with a friend I have developed an open source standalone MidiLFO app for OSX, as our entry for this years´ KVR Developer challenge:
http://www.kvraudio.com/developer_chall ... hp#dc09_32

It works pretty well with Live, as can be seen in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJtiakAIA7M

It should also work with any other software or hardware that is able to receive Midi CC´s (and optionally send Midi Sync).

We´re planning to take it further in the future, adding another LFO, more waveforms possibly multiple instances etc.
If you´re interested in following the development, the Sourceforge page can be found here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/midilfo/

If you like the software, we would be very happy for your vote over there at KVR!
(Winning stuff keeps one motivated haha)

Cheers!
Christian

P.S.: if you wish to use the MidiLFO together with Ableton Live, it is recommended to modify your Live options so that the incoming Midi Messages are not thinned out too extremely.
You should create the options file as described here:
http://www.ableton.com/pages/faq/options_text
Add the following lines to modify Midi Event thinning:
-MidiEventThinning=0
-ThinningAggressiveness=0

Can anybody confirm that it wont work for me?

Wow, guys, thanks for the feedback!
Great to hear that this works for a lot of people!!!

@ Alextronica: The software should work fine with 10.4.
First we had it 10.5 and higher, but we were able to recompile it for 10.4 and up.
I tried finding all the "needs 10.5 or higher" in the descriptions, but I must have missed one...
Where did you read it? Need to change that bit...

Cheers!
Christian

Sweet you already changed it!

Im downloading it now

Thanks Tons Christian!

One question It's not a plug in right? I downloaded it and opened it and it runs as a normal app.

Or do I drop it in my AU folder? and access it like any other VST?

@ Alextronica: nah, unfortunately it´s not possible to make an AU with MIDI output, so we decided to make this a standalone app. So no need to copy it to your plugin folder. To set it up, just have a look at the video in the first post! Just let me know if there is any trouble!

@ Macrostructure: we´re really sorry, we hadn´t even discovered your app until very recently, and we certainly didn´t want to rip it off!
On a side note, our software is Mac only and yours is Windows only. I agree though, having the same name is really kinda stupid :?
I´ve sent you a PM, please let´s discuss this matter further in private.

Cheers!
Christian
