U2 are they really that good?

Post by simpleton » Fri Nov 06, 2009 1:48 pm

They're selling tickets for stadium shows eight months in advance! 8O
I don't think I'll follow 'cause I lost interest for them in the nineties.

As a lifelong U2 fan who waited 25 years to see them, I can say that their 2009-2010 tour is beyond anything I've seen - even if you're lukewarm about their recent music or their ability to connect with a stadium of people, the spectacle of the stage and screen was worth the price of admission for me.

I'm not very familiar with U2's music, but I saw them a few weeks ago and was quite impressed. Their style is not really my thing, but I still could appreciate what they were doing. I was amazed actually at how well they were able to connect with 60,000+ people. Amazing stage show! I probably wouldn't have gone except that my wife had a free ticket, but I was glad I went. I imagine that if I knew their music better I would have been freaking out at how awesome it was.

No. No they aren't. Have you seen Bill Bailey's sketch, parodying The Edge?

I'd go if it's free, more than £5 I'd rather go and see a gig at my local pub.

Their trucks run on human excrement. They have their fans line up outside the show and shit into large suction tubes. I'm totally serious.

They're old and out of touch and irrelevant, and Bono is an asshole.

I thought insulting people is against the code of behavior and should be done at Nebulae's playground?

Cheers,

Yes. And they make the fans pay for the priviledge as well. All in a day's work at U2 Inc.

I haven't listened to their newer music, but I like their older stuff, and would still gladly go and see them as they always seem to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their stage show.
I like cheese.

from what I've heard from others, you dont even have to like U2 to be completely blown away by the show they've been putting on this tour.
