Live error message as soon as I open a max device

As the title says, I can open live, but as soon as I drag a max device (audio, midi or instrument) onto a track, it crashes!
anyone else suffering from this issue?

what version of everything (incl computer) would you be using?

latest version of live beta,
latest version of max4live beta,
acer aspire 9110 laptop, running xp service pack 3
Lots of vsts (i havent even opened any of these in the beta)
motu 828 mk2 soundcard (tried with this and the built in laptop soundcard)
CME UF8 keyboard
I think thats most of it.

XPM, it's a good idea that you incl version number information instead of "latest version" etc. because maybe some time goes by and a new beta is released before someone pops up with the same issue here and things like "latest version" become obsolete and useless. Otherwise, see my sig. That is my basic beta setup and i have not experienced the same issue as you describe with the current beta(s). Just thought I would help to get you help because this seems to be particular to your system. Good luck! Regards, Jason

version of live is 8.1b8, version of max is 5.1.0b8
Also, I dont know if it helps, but on the preferences page in live, the library tab shows the live pack 'max for live', when this is selected, it says '1 live pack selected' and shows a crossed circle below.

Case and Point. A new Live beta has been released already. Mine is outdated and i didn't know it until you posted your version number since it hasn't been announced here. Now I am downloading the new 8beta for m4l testing.

I have exact same problems with MFL,it will cause live to quit with error & also circle symbol under livepack.
Went to my licences page on ableton website & noticed that maxforlive(beta) is in the list of my standard licences but is not in the list of beta licences.
winXP sp3,live 8.1b8,max 5.1.0b8
