watcha peeps -
this may sound petty,
is there meant to be a back lit display [user1 mode] on the launchpad to audition drum rack sounds?
*waving*

you can do this already without any updates
i had the launchpad here for a review for some days by the end of october, the leds are working in user mode 1 if you send midi data to the launchpad.
because you cannot send midi data from a drum rack (=audio track), create a new midi track where you receive the midi data from your drum rack. on this new midi track you have to receive the midi data from the drum rack track and then send midi data to the launchpad.
voila, leds should be working now in user mode 1!

I'm so happy this topic was up when I started looking for the solution...
Now... what's the deal with no lights on User 2?

you're thinking about it wrong.
lights light up when there's a message sent to them, this is the LP being versatile.
you want lights?
make a drum rack track.
make a midi track, set its input to the output of the drum rack track and output to the Launch Pad.
now when you play the drum rack lights will light up. happy??

Ya, I had already feed it back to get my User 1 lights, no problem. Works just like the promo video and as you suggested. It's User 2 that was and still is a mystery. I mapped most of these buttons to toggle dummy clips which are in audio tracks. No lights there. I can see lights on some User 2 midi clips I mapped; but, the buttons that light up are not the buttons I'm pressing. I think the various +12 Pitch plugs I'm using is why ... zen master.
I think I have an idea..
