Hello,

I'm wondering what are the best FireWire (read: to use with Macs) mixers to be used with Live.

I'll start listing them with the KORG ZERO4/ZERO8.

Do you know others?

mackie onyx satelite has some pretty nice converters - come up real cheap on ebay too -

- korg zero8 (i've read lots of complains about that one, but not about zero4) [8 stereo ins]
- korg zero4 (i own one, thinking about 4d now) [4 stereo ins]
- ecler evo5 [4 stereo ins]
- mackie d.2 pro [2 stereo ins]
- mackie d.4 pro [4 stereo ins]

zeros, evo and xone offers also a lot of midi control posibilities
zeros and evo lot of digital effects

mixer? as in.. performance, or studio funkery?

for studio funkery, here are some fw surfaces:

- tascam fw-1884
- m-audio projectmix i/o

I used to have an Onyz 1220. I regret selling it!
It was rock solid. A bit expensive, but quite versatile.
Recommended for studio use and live sound, but probably not for live sets.

i love mine, it's been fantastic so far. especially when you can actually take advantage of all the inputs this thing has. not enough arms
