Automation range bug

Hello,

I have a serious problem with the automation. Version 4.03.

For example In the midi part I draw an envelope modulating a vst parameter from 0% - 100% as a saw wave . If I have moved the knob on the plugin interface to zero, no modulation occurs, but if I move the knob to 50% the envelope now modulates the parameter between 0% and 50%, if i push the knob up to 100% the envelope now modulates the entire range. It seems to watch where you move the knob on the plugin interface, and then use that as the MAX of the automation range.

This happens on every VST synth Ive tried.
Is this some kind of INSANE "feature" or a bug?

I have the same issue on most clip automation. However, there are a few plug-ins I use that still have the full range, in the clip automation, no matter what I have the knob on the actual VST interface set at.

For example: Reaktor Carbon ~ Clip Envelope minds the button. All LIVE sends, vol, pan, etc mind the button too. iZotope Trash ~ Clip Envelope does not.

I know if the Abletons were to fix this, then they should have an option to "mind" the VST Panel knob or not. The reason is that I've got automation that relies on the knob's position in my tracks now. For future, I'd most definitely like my clip envelopes had 100% range all the time.

Hi cl0wnj1g,

clip envelopes operate always relative to the absolute value of the corresponding parameter.
Please read chapter 18.3 "Mixer and Device Clip Envelopes" from the Live Manual for more detailed information.
