Ableton Live is a ridiculous program because you can not customize your keyboard shortcuts.

This is unbelievable.

Music is a ridiculous art form because sometimes people don't write songs that I don't like.

:D

Apple are a rediculous company because they make computers that I like but I can't afford.

It's unbelieveable.

the point of the keyboard shortcuts is that no matter what program you use, they are pretty much standard commands. ctrl-z is undo on probably every software program out there i assume. didn't realize you couldn't change those commands but why would you want to? they are the most commonly used functions, aren't they? and i thought if you added a keyboard command, it would overwrite the default command???

To be fair to the OP, most DAWs do let you overwrite keyboard shortuts, and to come up with macros. To be able to do this in Live would be handy.

Yep I had this in Logic 2.6 before audio and vst was even invented super loooooooong list of super useful stuff (Move note by bar, beat, grid, 4th, 8th, 16th, tick)
Also the step sequencing thing in the MIDI editor is a mess

i've learned all the ones i use a lot
i used to make up my own shortcuts on cubase and was always losing them on reinstalls and havong to set them all up again... annoying

use a 3rd party program.. It'll probably be more extensive than Live could integrate anyways..
