a bit frustrating trying to track down opinions regarding the faderfoxes Lv1
fader opinions, i see bits an pieces of info on what controlls it has and what not from users but can anybody give the goods on the crossfader itself, ?
is it a lever
or
a smooth crossfader good for cutting samples, is it like a dj mixer crossfader and once again is it good for cutting samples which is kind of important , even alot of dj mixers don't come with crossfaders good for that so i'm asking pretty please could you faderfox users shed some light on this in paticular and once again on your experiences with the units.
thanks much

thanks for the reply mag, i'm curious as hell about the fader fox L1, for turntablist feel of control my remote 25 is super not cutting it. what's the overall lowdown on your experience?
and do you know of another controller that might offer a better feel of that nature, like have you tried the x-session?

mic, you're not going to get the same feel or quality from a midi controller as a quality vca crossfader on a high end mixer.
the lv1 uses alps gear so its as good as any midi controller out there, way better than the x-session imho. but the inherent lack of resolution in midi (127 steps) makes it a poor substitute for replicating someting like this.

is it that row of buttons at the bottom, I think there are only eight of them but is that what you use to trigger samples or scenes?
I see they have functions listed on them so i'm assuming you he some button that switches them to sample/scene triggers, is it pretty easy to go back and forth.

i got that one together with the LV1
i havent gotten to testing them properly TBH
but it works like this, simply said
there are two sliders for mixing on the DJ1 like a simpel DJ mixer, when u use both the LV1 and the DJ1 together u use one of these faders on the DJ1 to control 4 faders on the LV1.
but like i said i still need to test it good, just got back from holiday
they come with templates for ableton
u get a 16 channel template and a 8 channel template for using the LV 2gether with the DJ1
as a standalone unit the DJ1 is more useable for traktor than for live i think...but it depends on what u wanna do with it..
but to come back on ur crossfader post i cant give u good advice coz i never use a crossfader.....but in my opinion it feels good enuff
it uses good components if the user comment are true
