Hi to all!
I am new user of Ableton Live and I already admire it's possibilities!!! I would like to know if it's possible to use a direct audio input (or audio from one existing track as a source sample for Simpler or Sampler.
Let say that I am playing guitar or have a voice channel on track 1, and I want to use this directly as source for Simpler or Sampler?
It would be nice if it could be possible, but I didn't find a way to do so yet...

Hi,

You would have to record the audio first and then drag it into one of the instruments.

What are you trying to achieve? There will almost certainly be an appropriate effect to do the job instead.

I was wondering If it's possible to use all possibilities of Sampler for example, like Pitch/Osc, Filter, Modulation and LFO's automatization of them but on a live playing sound?

Sorry if the question seems stupid but since you mentioned your're new to ableton..

Did you try routing the guitar into an audio track and using audio effects on that?
At least some of the effects you want you can get this way.

Hi,

The frequency shifter will do most of the effects you mentioned. The best thing to do is play with all of the effects, you will soon find out that you have more than you could ever imagine

Yes, I tried to do so...but here what has happend: I record my guitar as one clip and I saved that sample. Later on I put that sample into Sampler and I got a wonderful sound (I didn't use any Loop start/end options and I haven't crop it in any way;I used it as it is, but playing around with pitch, filter and other automation). Later, I tried to do the same but playing a guitar live, but I was disappointed with the fact that I was not able to rout audio input (guitar) directly in Sampler. With other audio effects I was not able to get the same result
