been waiting for this for a while.. mainly the midi in/out.. can't wait to try it out..
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... ?page=1225
What’s new:
MIDI In and Out: Send MASCHINE patterns as MIDI output in order to play other music software or hardware with MASCHINE, or trigger MASCHINE sounds from any external MIDI source, such as your host’s piano roll.
Audio Export: Dragging and dropping patterns from MASCHINE to a sequencer track conveniently exports them as audio files.
Switch scene via MIDI: Trigger scene switches via MIDI notes and record these in your host to integrate MASCHINE with your recording project.
Loading groups without patterns: Try out different sounds or switch all sounds at once without changing patterns.
REX file support: Import the popular REX format with included slicing information.
Expanded Hardware Control: Easy navigation and quick adjustment of group and sound volumes as well as panning on the MASCHINE controller
Additional slicing options, one bar count-in for recording, adjustable metronome volume, silent sound selection and much more!

A good update, definitely getting Maschine closer to where it needs to be! If they just add host automation and a couple other tweaks (edit: host automation just announced for upcoming 1.2 update!), Maschine will become one of the fiercest pieces of gear out there, IMO.

Also check the next upcoming features:
MPC program import
Destructive audio editing
Host automation
MIDI CC and pitchbend support
Adjustable slice markers
MIDI export of patterns via Drag&Drop
A "vintage" sampler mode that emulates the sound of the MPC 60 and SP1200 (based on actual component modelling)
And much more...
Seems like they listen pretty good to the userbase requests.

Umm, no, that wasn't me. Although I had to think about it for a second, as it sounded plausible enough at first, lol.

wow! and hell no!

and this is coming from someone who can't stand NI....
damn NI I love you!!!, this is obviously some renegade faction of NI mounting a civil war and they will probably not fair as well as the North did in the end but here's to gettin while the gettin is good.
maschine is turning out to be the best overlooked controller in all of this hooplah, imagine if they put some secret little slot on the inside that would allow you to use it with out the computer in a way into the future mysterious update.
anyway it looks like with the advent of importing mpc programs that machine is turning into an mpc rather than an mpc killer, I wonder what jj is going to do about this and looking forward to that as well. I think I'll never sell maschine though it's earned it's place.

I wouldn't be surprised if Akai took note and added visual feedback on their pads or something.. what ever it is they do on the next level, they gotta up their game or else they will get left behind.. right now, the mpc mystique is carrying them..
