Glitching sound while recording (example included!)

Recently I've started noticing intermittent sounds appearing whilst recording audio. They could be described as glitches or buzzes or skips. They happen more when actively recording but also happen less frequently whilst the monitor is armed but not recording. Sometimes they appear to occur in time with mouse clicks but not always.
It happens using both of my microphones and my guitar input. not when using soft synths etc.
My setup is
Live 8.0.5
Mac OS X - iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I'm using an m-audio firewire Ozonic as the hardware interface. I've been using this same thing for about three years and only recently started experiencing this problem.
Nothing has changed in my studio - other than upgrading to Live 8, but it didn't start immediately when i did that, only with the last few weeks.
My computer sits near our wifi hub but it has done for a year and this hasn't happened. Could that be the cause?
My instinct, based on the sound, is that it's something internal to the computer or software. I can record very nicely and cleanly without noise and the glitching occurs. I've tried varying the buffer size but nothing seems to definitively solve it.
Others have talked at length about click/pop problems. I'm not convinced this is the same thing. I can offer a 4 second mp3 which demonstrates it to anyone willing to help.

Any suggestions very much welcomed.
