Metering options in compressor

I'd like to be able to judge gain reduction visually in db, as well as looking at the yellow bar that represents that gain change of the signal. Small one, but would make targeted reductions a lot easier to achieve.
Edit. I can see the bar is lined upto 0db. So from there I guess you can judge against the input scale. But it'd be nice is the userface was simplified or had clearly marked i/o meter stages.

nevermind.

you see a scaling in the black square. that same scaling can be "extended" to the actual compression-display. the grid being -6db steps.
at least i think it's that way. if it is, then, in this pic, we would have around -10db.
but yeah, it could be more explicit.

It could be nice to see dynamically the transfer function by placing the input bargraph horizontally
this could be fine in the multiband compressor showing 3bargraph meters corresponding with the splitted bands.
a such feature did exist in the multiband dynamic tool (MDT) from Antares and i loved it long time ago with my
nubus 68040 protools .

yeah something like this would be nice. they could save space by making a diagonal line from leftbottom to righttop, and then, at the place of the yellow circle draw a line upwards till that line, and do another circle on the hitpoint there. the line between the circles would be the dynamic reduction. they could even remove the output display then, making it a bit more slim.
